Words don't always come easy, so I'm here to help.
I'm Lesley and have been writing stories for more than two decades. As a newspaper journalist, feature writer and specialist publications editor -- despite the word count generated in that time frame (several gazillion is my guess) -- no two stories were ever the same. That goes for your business too. You might feel like one in a sea of many, but that doesn't mean you have to feel swamped out there. The right words and tone can help you get back to the surface, and to your customers, and stay there.
What can I help with?
Think of this as a wishlist for all things writing-related, choose what you need, when you need it
Content writing
This is the buzz term for writing good old-fashioned stories. It's content that can be presented across all platforms from websites to email newsletters and social media, but when it comes to the crunch it still needs to be interesting and hit your target audience.
Copywriting
This kind of writing is what they use in advertising world. It still serves the same purpose as content writing but doesn't have to sound like it's come off a box of cereal. Of course, if it's a short sharp sentence with a killer pun that's required, that I can also do.
Blog posts
These can help foster SEO gold if you know what you are digging for. Adding fresh content on your website and sharing it with your social media community on a regular basis is marketing 101 in the digital era of business.
Social media content
You are on Facebook and Instagram but flat out of ways to keep your customers engaged. Less is more when it comes to taglines that make people want to click or comment. And if you want something light and humorous, I can give you something to laugh about.
Media releases
Writing newspaper stories and, ahem, award-winning headlines, for a living across a quarter of a century (sheesh), I've learned a thing or two about getting articles published. Let me help you promote your event or services in the best possible light, the one that makes the media and customers want to jump on it.
Editing and proofing
I don't like the term grammar-nazi but have been called one on occasion. It's meant to be a heckle for being prudish about things like sentence construction and punctuation. What it also means is you know your stuff, and stuff like clean and incisive copy matters to your customers and clients.
